Don’t you love seeing dandelions this time of year?  They look like sunshine to me.  Partly because they are yellow, but also because the bees and butterflies love them.

These are beneath the blueberry bushes.  So while the pollinators are visiting the dandelions, they pollinate the blueberry bushes too.

And everybody is happy.

Do you know this tree?  I bet you do, just not at this stage.  This is how they look right now: blooming fuzzy yellow.

On your next walk around the neighborhood, look up, you may see some.

As we were walking the loop, this native dogwood caught my eye.  It is just starting to bloom.  I love how the blossoms start out green, then open to show bright white.

We saw a bunch of dogwoods on our drive into Murphy on Friday.  They are all along the roadside.

It won’t be long before we will see them blooming everywhere.

Cilantro coming up in the garden.  We are SO fortunate!!!  Of course, I planted the seeds, but it’s always a thrill when they emerge.  And in this quantity!!!

Woohoo!!!  We love cilantro and coriander.

Look who’s back in town.  Tiger Swallowtails.

Love seeing them.  Hope you get to see some on your walks.

The Speedwell is blooming.  This is just a tiny portion of the patch.  You can see how small the blossoms are:  they are growing in the grass, next to the clover.

I love their sky-blue color.  Look around, you may see some.  This is their time of year to shine.

I know I’ve shown you Bloodroot before, but it was just so pretty the other day.  The flowers are bright white and the leaves stand upright next to the flowers.  AND…it grows in colonies.  I love that.

You know that Spring has sprung when the ferns start to grow new fiddleheads.  This is Christmas fern, and it grows everywhere around here:  on the Creekside Trail, in Meeks Park, on Blood Mountain.

Look for it on your walks.

We went for our walk in the park yesterday, and the Crabapples are starting to bloom.  This one is on the entrance road, along with about 8 others.  They are just starting to bloom.  Should be gorgeous in about a week.

Plan a trip to Meeks Park in Blairsville.  It is lovely.

We think Mr. Bluebird has found the nest box.  See him on the peach tree branch eyeing the nest box?  We also saw Mrs. Bluebird hanging around the tree, and investigating the box.

Now we just have to wait until we hear some baby bird noises coming from the box.

HAPPY BIRDING!!!
