I'm running out of ideas, here.
If you'd like to send me a photo or a story, I'll be happy to share it here on the Five Forks blog. Oh wait!!! I just remembered a text I got from my friend Sandy. Check back tomorrow for a look at her Florida garden.
But you can still send me a photo or a story to share.
HAPPY WINTER!!!

We saw this today on Facebook: Jon's grandson, Hunter. This is how his sister Brooke found him in the morning, asleep on the sofa.
Check out his pillow!!!! The dog!!! Hahaha! 11 year old boys are so funny.
Thought you could use a good laugh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
HAPPY WINTER!!!

I have been chilled for about 4 days now. We get out and walk and that usually warms me up, and makes me feel better. Then, I ran across this picture, and it warmed me up without having to do anything!!!
I hope you're staying warm.
HAPPY WINTER!!!

This is a picture from our Christmas snow. I took it at noon on Christmas. You don't mind more snow pix, do you?
I thought the folks on the North side of the community would like to see their houses in the snow. Their houses from MY porch on Crabapple Lane.
When we moved here in 2004, these houses weren't here. This mountainside was just trees. No roads, no houses. When they first started developing it, it looked raw and bare, but it was interesting to see the houses being built, and the roads being put in. And it has grown into a beautiful area of the community. We call it the North village. As you can see, it looked gorgeous in the snow.
HAPPY WINTER!!!

After I posted the story about Bill's Moose, we walked the loop and I noticed a better photo opportunity. I thought you'd like to see the beautiful wood grain in his body. Much better picture for those of you who can't get up there to see Morrie in person.
Hmmmm. The wood looks a lot like Tedd E. Bear down on the trail.
HAPPY WINTER!!!

Look who I saw hanging out in Jo and Mike's garden. I wonder what kind of magic they perform when nobody's looking.
Thought you'd like to start your day with a smile. ;)
HAPPY WINTER!!!

We have all kinds of artists in our neighborhood. Fortunately for you and me, some of them live on our walking path, so we get to see them and their art work.
As I was walking by, I saw Jim working in his garage. He was working on this: stained glass.
I asked him if he used a pattern, and he told me that when Jan Geene moved she gave him all her patterns, and the extra glass that she and Al had used. Don't you love to see good use of old stuff?
I don't know if Jim does commissioned pieces, but it's worth asking him if you want something beautiful.
HAPPY WINTER PROJECTS!!!

Look who I saw on the trail the other day.
On Thursday, our decrepit old friend Tedd was hanging out in his usual tree. On Saturday, he was gone and this new bear was in his place. I started checking in with my friends, to see WHO did it. I still don't know, but as soon as I find out, I'll let you know. You may want whoever it was to carve you something to park in your tree.
Next time you're on the trail, be sure to say hello to the new and improved Tedd.
HAPPY HIKING!!!

Wow!!! This weather is SO pretty!!! Saturday's high temperature was 70; granted, that reading was taken in the sun, but still.... I hope you are getting out and breathing this beautiful fresh air. That is just one of the many reasons we moved to the mountains, right?
I took this picture at the start of my walk. I walked up to the house at the top and back down the road and up the trail. 8700 steps. Got some good bloggery stuff, too. Check back tomorrow.
HAPPY HIKING!!!

It is 2021, and this is the closest I've got to a calendar. What to plant and when to plant it. (This is how gardeners roll.)
Hmmm. I guess I should've thought about this a little sooner. Lucky for me, Amazon delivers!!!
Until then, I'll just print out a blank calendar and fill it in. I don't want to miss anybody's birthday.
HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!
