We got our snow on Sunday night into Monday morning. Not as much as NOAA predicted, but enough to make us smile.
There's nothing quite like waking up to snow.
HAPPY WINTER!!!

I was hoping to post pretty snow pictures today.
NOAA weather said we were supposed to get 6-10 inches of snow yesterday. Fluffy snow came down about 4 am, but then it changed to rain. I shouldn't complain, but rain and 38 degrees is (IMO) a waste of precipitation.
Well, while we were lamenting our lack of snow, this is what happened. This bright, bold, beautiful rainbow showed up in our western sky and lasted a couple of minutes. We stared at it from the deck as it came and went and came back.
Shame on me, I thought, to grouse about the weather. Our weather is perfect.
STILL HOPING FOR SNOW!!!

Bye bye Mr. Turkey, Hello Santa.
This is what we do for fun. Yesterday afternoon Mike took the turkey parts home, and Jon and I repainted the haybale. I can't help it; I wake up in the morning thinking about this stuff: How to turn a round bale of hay into something to make you smile.
It worked too, didn't it.
MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!

The Bradford pears are somewhere between this and naked. They are so pretty when they change color, but it doesn't last that long.
This one is just above Al's house on Stonebriar. Better go see it before it drops all those beautiful leaves.
HAPPY FALL Y'ALL!!!

When I count my blessings, this is where I start: with Momma and Daddy. Then Nanny and BeeBee, then, it goes on for a while.
My list of blessings is quite long, but if you are reading this, YOU are probably on that list.
I hope your list of blessings is long too, and you have a very

I love the Beech trees. This one is at Meeks Park, but our neighborhood is full of them too.
Right now, the leaves are a beautiful color between yellow and brown, and they shimmer in the wind.
In our area they hold onto their leaves all through the winter, until the new leaves push the old ones out. That's how you can spot them in the woods in the winter: deciduous trees with these beautiful brown leaves still attached.
Be on the lookout, there are probably some in your neighborhood too.
HAPPY GARDENING!!!

Clifford's hill sure has changed in the last week. This is what it looks like now. A different kind of pretty.
HAPPY FALL Y'ALL!!!

I guess you have noticed that the haybale has taken on a new identity.
Patty's scarecrows and pumpkins are back, and Mike and Tom transformed the flag into a turkey.
Jon and I returned the soldiers and eagle sculpture to their rightful owners, and thanked them for their service.
See, a little teamwork, and we all get to enjoy the displays.
HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!!

I thought you might like to see our road today. Hahaha!!!
You can't even see the road. But I am standing at the top of Crabapple Lane, looking down the hill. Oh, yeah!!! This is the same hill we get to sled on when it snows. WE LOVE IT in all kinds of weather.
HAPPY FALL!!!

Coming up the trail, we sat on the bench for a little rest, and I took this picture of the bridge that crosses the creek.
This is such a beautiful time of year to take a walk in the woods, and we are so fortunate to have woods all around us.
HAPPY FALL!!!
