I know I’ve shown you this before, a few times, but today is another special day:  this is blog number 1500 for me.

I have used some pictures more than once, but each article is freshly written, with you in mind.

Thanks again, Mark, for my cool sign;  and thank you to all my faithful readers.

Picture from the Internet

YOOHOO!!!!!

We now have Fiber Optic Internet Service.  May not mean anything to folks living in the big city, but we have been on the fringe of technology ever since we got here.  Now we have a speed of 80 Mbps!!!

Those guys were really efficient too.  They were here less than 20 minutes, and hooked up our house to the 21st century.

WE ARE HAPPY!!!

I was going to write about Leap year traditions, but it is quite complicated, so I will just suggest that you go to your favorite online dictionary and look up ‘leap year’ and ‘leap day.’  Or go to https://www.almanac.com/when-next-leap-year for the shortened version.  (Sorry for all the ads.)

It is interesting, and amusing all at the same time.

HAPPY ALMOST MARCH!!!

Don’t mean to brag, but we made and mailed 47 valentines this year.  Not sure what the brag is:  that we have 47 friends, or that we can afford postage for that many valentines.  Haha!

Four went to nursing home friends, fifteen went to family, and the rest are for old and new friends.  We are joyful and so grateful to have so many family and friends.

I hope your Valentine’s Day is special and full of love.

HAPPY VALENTINE’S DAY!!!

Our friends are traveling to Germany to be with family, and they sent us pix from London.

We can’t be there ourselves, but isn’t it wonderful to see it through their eyes.

Thanks Violet!!!!!

HAPPY WINTER!!!!

Well, it happened!!  We went to Woodstock, GA last week, and I saw my first robot.  It was moving around all by itself, and it appears to be doing some kind of inventory, ALL BY ITSELF.

I was a little surprised, but not really.  It IS the year 2023.  Guess we better get used to it.

HAPPY DECEMBER!!!

We love this picture.  I know I’ve shown it to you before, but I can’t help myself.

I think Momma was 94 in this picture, making cheese biscuits at Betsy’s house.  She always made them for Christmas. One year, I suggested using the food processor to grate the cheese, but she liked doing it the way she always did it.

Today would be Momma’s 100th birthday.

If you’d like to make Momma’s cheese biscuits, just go to the recipe section of this website.  It’s there under cheese, along with this picture.  ;)

HAPPY BIRTHDAY MOMMA!!!

A very dear friend of ours had a birthday last week.  She turned 100!!!

She was a childhood friend of Momma’s;  they met in the second grade, and were friends for almost ninety years.  She played the piano for years, and she volunteered at the shelter in Norfolk until she was 94 years old.  She loved cats, and usually had one or more.  She doesn’t live by herself anymore, so pets aren’t really an option for her.

So one of her very thoughtful friends got her this Perfect Pet cat for her birthday.  It came with its own bed, collar, and kitty brush.   It doesn’t need feeding or a litter box, but it does purr (as long as the batteries hold out.)

How sweet is that?  When I find out, I’ll let you know its name.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, SUE!!!
