I asked Betsy to send me some snow pictures from Montana, and this is what she sent me. "Meet Nellie, she's a love."
It looks like Nellie loves the snow too, in her fur coat. I bet this picture was taken from inside, through the window. I know Betsy. And she is smart enough to know that walking in the snow can be hazardous to mature women from warmer climates. Even still, I'm glad they are having fun.
HAPPY WINTER!!!

I am trying not to get too excited about snow, but I can't help myself. I love snow.
This is what we got on Tuesday morning. And on Wednesday morning we got 17 degrees. The forecast is for 3-7 inches of snow on Friday. MY fingers are crossed. I hope we get that and more.
One of my sisters (the crazy one) is in Montana for 10 days. She loves the snow too, but I bet she is enjoying it from the living room beside the fireplace. Maybe she's not that crazy, just more adventurous than we are.
HAPPY WINTER!!!

OK, maybe I am groping for bloggery subjects, but I thought you might like to see the very cool pan we use to cook our cornbread. It only holds one-half the recipe, but it works great!! Each piece is the right size for a serving, and the edges are crispy all the way around. We love this cast iron pan; I think it came from the thrift store.
You can find the recipe for Janet's Cornbread in the recipe section. Just look under breads.
HAPPY COOKING!!!

My friend Roxanne makes these beautiful arrangements using greens and Christmas ornaments. Every year they are different, each one more fantastic than the last.
I am so glad I am on her nice list. I love these.
HAPPY END OF DECEMBER!!!

Merry Christmas from our house to yours!!!
I hope Santa visited your house last night. We didn't actually see him, but I know he was here, because our home was filled with love, and hope for the new year. Oh wait, that didn't require Santa's touch, our home is always filled with love.
But this morning, we felt that extra something special.
MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!

We are ready for Santa. The cookie jar is full to the brim of gingerbread men, and we will put out a few for Santa tonight.
I hope he comes to your house too.
MERRY CHRISTMAS EVE!!!

I tried my hand at flower arranging using Christmas greens. This is what I came up with to cheer my friends who are going through a tough time. I made two of them, and they were beautiful on the long wooden dinner table.
HAPPY DECEMBER!!!

I saw this on Facebook, and it made me think how fortunate I am that I don't know anybody who would do such a thing.
Looking for snow in the mountains.
HAPPY DECEMBER !!!

This is how it looked outside our windows on Monday. It was warm enough to go for a walk, but still a little too damp.
We thought about it, and decided to wait for another day. It's OK to take a day off now and then.
HAPPY DECEMBER!!!

It's Momma's birthday, and time to decorate for Christmas. We brought up the snowmen, Father Christmas, and enough silk poinsettias to cover everything. That's how we do it.
I also found a log of already made cheese biscuits (from last year) so we will cook those today too.
I'm so glad we've had a few inside days, to make cookies, cook cheese biscuits, and decorate for Christmas. I love thinking about how fortunate we are to live here in the mountains.
I hope your holidays are off to a wonderful start too.
HAPPY CHRISTMAS!!!!
