Sourwood in the Fall

Hey Mark!!! That red tree in your woods is a Sourwood. It is gorgeous!!!
Those bright red splashes you see in the woods now are probably sourwoods. A few others are changing to red too, but you can tell the sourwoods because they are tall and their whitish seed pods are still hanging on. Maples don't have them, and the sumacs have much bigger berry clusters.
Look up next time you're out; I bet you will see some fall color. More and more each day.
HAPPY FALL!!!
