OK.  Have you ever cut a watermelon?  Of course you have.  We all have.  But!!!  Have you ever done it like this?

 

This is our firefighter friend, Aoden, cutting a watermelon.  First, he cut off the ends, so it had a flat surface.  Then he "peeled" it.  Then he cut it into pieces.  Brilliant!!!

 

He wasn't cutting it on a roly poly surface, and he didn't waste all that much rind.  

 

I think I will do it this way from now on.
