Yep. It’s winter here. We’ve had some warm days, some rainy days, some windy days, and now we are getting COLD!!
We may even get some snow this week. That would be OK with me.
If we do, I’ll get you a couple good pictures of the garden and the mountains.
HAPPY WINTER!!!

We woke up to snow on Wednesday, just a dusting here.
By the afternoon it was warm enough to go for a walk, and all our snow was gone. When we got to the top of the mountain we could see that Franklin got a bunch of snow. See it in the distance?
Maybe we’ll get some more.
HAPPY JANUARY!!!

I hope Santa comes to your house tonight.
HAPPY CHRISTMAS EVE!!!

I love getting out the Christmas decorations, and sprinkling them around the house. No tree again this year, but lots of snowmen and poinsettias.
The Santas will get put away in January, but the snowmen and red silk flowers can stay until spring.
MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!

The same day that I posted an article about my favorite Holly tree, we were chatting with a neighbor. He is on the well committee, and told us that he learned from an old timer here that the best place to dig a well is close to a holly tree.
Not sure WHY, but apparently it works, because that is one of the criteria that Cherokee Well Drilling uses when looking for well sites. I thought it was kinda interesting, and thought you would too.
Now you know where to start digging your well. ;)
HAPPY DECEMBER!!!

Look at our beautiful winter sky.
It’s that time of year when I run out of gardening things to talk about.
I’ll try to think of something, but please forgive me if I can’t come up with something every day.
HAPPY GARDENING!!!

Yep, it’s that time of year again. Time to change the clocks back to Eastern Standard Time.
But I bet you already knew that.
HAPPY FALL!!!

Here are the three Gingko trees in the Methodist Church parking lot. And they are showing their fabulous fall colors.
It’s worth the trip (from here) to Blairsville to see them. There is another one on the right as you head into Blairsville. It is beautiful now too.
And then there are the ones on Bolling Avenue, and some big ones in front of Northside Junior High School, and don’t forget the ones in the cemetery on Granby Street.
I hope you have some Gingko trees closer to home, so you can see them now. They are great!!!
HAPPY FALL!!!!
