Simple Green Beans
Submitted by Gerry Trout on Jul 05, 2022

The best way to cook green beans

Servings:
1

Complexity:
Very Easy

Total Time:
15 minutes

Ingredients:
Fresh picked green beans, trimmed and snapped
Water
1 Tbsp butter
1 clove garlic, minced
1 tsp salt
Parsley for garnish

Directions:
Wash, trim and snap green beans, or leave them whole if you like.
In about a cup of water, steam beans for 5 minutes, then plunge into ice water, until beans are cool. This keeps the bright green color.
Mash the salt into the garlic, and set aside.
Melt butter, and add the beans back to the pan. Using a hot spot in the pan, add the garlic and salt mash up.
Toss it altogether and heat through.
Add the parsley just before serving.

Cook's Notes:
We eat these nearly every night when the beans are in season. Sometimes we add sliced mushrooms, or cubed cooked potatoes.

Sometimes we top our beans with Granny Trout’s Green bean salad.

SO GOOD!!!
