Spinach Christmas Tree

Pizza dough stuffed with spinach dip
Servings:
6
Complexity:
Easy
Total Time:
Under 2 hours
Ingredients:
Pizza dough (we use Jon's pizza dough, but I've seen pizza dough in the dairy case)
Spinach dip ( about 2 cups)
1/2 cup grated cheddar cheese
Directions:
Spread pizza dough into a rectangle. Cut a large triangle from the center, shaping the 2 scrap pieces into another triangle to go on top of the first one.
Spread spinach dip on bottom dough, sprinkle with cheese, then place second triangle on top.
Make horizontal cuts to look like branches, leaving the trunk uncut. Twist each 'branch' a couple turns.
Bake at 450° for 20-25 minutes until brown.
Cook's Notes:
We loved the spinach, but I'm thinking that you could use salmon and cream cheese or cream cheese with walnuts and cinnamon, or what about a dryish pimiento cheese spread? You could even layer on deli sliced turkey and swiss cheese. The possibilities are endless.
